Congratulations to Pardes Alumnae!

29 October, 2007

Pardes Jewish Day School would like to congratulate three members of the PJDS Class of 2004 who have recently been named winners of the prestigious National Merit Semi-Finalist Award. Only 1% of all the students in each of the fifty states who take the PSAT exam are named as Semi-Finalists. Nicole Damari, Ivy Epstein, and Lauren Motzkin will now apply to be finalists, with the opportunity to win thousands of dollars for college tuition.

The students' PSAT scores were in the 99% overall in the areas of Reading Comprehension, Mathematics, and Writing Skills. To have 25% of our 8th graders from 2004 qualify for National Merit is truly remarkable! (Pardes only had 12 8th graders in 2004; this year, we have 24.)

Nicole is a 12th grader at Desert Mountain High School. She is one of the top students in the International Baccalaureate program in her school and has acted in numerous stage productions. Ivy and Lauren are 12th graders at Phoenix Country Day School. They have both excelled in honors and Advanced Placement courses and have been involved in music, drama, and sports.

The Pardes Jewish Day School community congratulates these three special students and their families. We wish them the best of luck as they pursue admission to some of the most selective colleges and universities in the country.
